Your path to becoming a private pilot license

Basic training private pilot license PPL(H)

Does your heart beat faster when you hear the sound of a helicopter and when you feel the vibration in the air? The thought of freedom and adventure sends off happyness hormones through your body?
In that case, you got enough aviation blood in you to get yourself a helicopter license!

We train you to become a licensed private pilot license PPL(H). Once licensed, you are allowed to fly non-commercially alone or with your friends within Switzerland and abroad.
The private pilot license is the corner stone for further interesting and exhilarating training possibilities.

Requirements for private pilot license training (in german)

Depending on your schedule, the private pilot license can be obtained within a time span of six to twelve months. The theory part of your training which you attend at one of our partner schools consists of nine subjects and separate aviation radio training.

Requirement practical exam

    • At least seventeen years of age
    • In possession of flight-aptitude confirmation by doctor (at least Medical 2)​
    • Termination of practical exams, no longer than two years back
    • At least 45 hours of helicopter flights
    • At least 25 hours of flight lessons, together with one of our flight instructors
    • at least 10 hours of solo flights, under observation and control by one of our flight instructors

You virtually feel the power of the turbine and the three-blade rotor is famous for its stability even in roughest weather. The navigation controls work on hydraulic cylinders which allow for smooth and swift transmission.

Thanks to our central location in Mollis, training possibilities abound, and no long flights are necessary which means that training costs can be kept low.

Your path to becoming a commercial pilot (modular)

Qualification commercial pilot license CPL(H)

The private pilot license does not cover all of your desires and you wish to obtain the status of a commercial pilot? Get competently trained by our very own professional flight instructors and become a pro yourself.

Before you can start the practical training to become a commercial pilot license, you must have garnered at least 155 flight hours. That is why we recommend that, on your path from a private pilot to a commercial pilot, you integrate the two modules «Flying at night (NIT)» (in german) and «Mountain landing (MOU)» (in german).
You don’t want to start off with the minimal requirements but rather aim higher? Then, add to your experiences one or several of our flights abroad (International flights).

Before you can begin your training, you must be in possession of a Medical 1, have flown 155 hours (of which 50 must be as pilot in command’ with ten overland flight hours) as well as pass an aptitude test in mathematics and physics.

Requirement practical exam

    • At least 185 flight hours on helicopters
    • At least 20 training flight hours on double controls with one of our flight instructors
    • At least 10 hours of instrument flights/instructions
    • 5 hours of night flight training (NIT)

Training on a helicopter that is extra class

Obtain your professional pilot license from swiss skyways services ag on our Airbus Helicopters H120 and make first experiences with a turbine-powered helicopter - something that gets demanded by each aviation enterprise. The move to the Ecureuil (Airbus Helicopters H125) helicopter will pose no challenges as the two aircraft are very similar.
